I am very excited about this confirmation personally, as it shows a shift in SEO from straight backlink building and technical wizardry to a more editorial shift that rewards great content and authorities within an industry or niche. Translation: Less Spam – Maybe.
People don’t share, or like spam and useless information. I know if I came across a poorly written article or blog that was made solely for SEO purposes, I probably would not retweet or share it amongst my friends. Randfish from SEOmoz does a very good job of explaining this in much more detail.
Google and Bing have made it very clear: start utilizing Twitter and Facebook or face falling behind in the ever changing game of SEO.
